Lucky though that there are some hotels and other accommodations in the Atlantic City area that understand and welcome your furry friends. Below are some pet friendly hotels and a list of things you can do with your pets in the Atlantic City area. Check these out in advance of your stay so you don’t run into any problems when you arrive. Rules change so be sure to call before you arrive.
The Law
Service Animals – are welcome at all hotels in New Jersey. See NOLO bulletin.
Emotional Support Animals “ESA’s” – please note the below paragraph from the above NOLO link “New Jersey Laws on Service Dogs and Emotional Support Animals” and check before you arrive because although hotels are not required to accept ESA’s, many of them do with proper documentation.
“Neither the ADA nor New Jersey’s service animal law includes pets or what are often referred to as “emotional support animals”: animals that provide a sense of safety, companionship, and comfort to those with psychiatric or emotional disabilities or conditions. Although these animals often have therapeutic benefits, they are not individually trained to perform specific tasks for their handlers. Under the ADA and New Jersey law, owners of public accommodations are not required to allow emotional support animals, only service animals.”
