If a vacation isn’t a vacation without a few games of golf, the Atlantic City area won’t disappoint with its many local courses designed to fit any budget or skill level. So, what are some good Atlantic City area golf courses? There are many to choose from.
No matter which course you choose your day is sure to be better than sitting inside. I have no idea who penned this quote, but it’s certainly fitting to golf. “A bad day on the course is better than a good day at work!” The point is . . . get out and enjoy the day!
Here are some suggestions, not in any particular order.
If you happen to be in the market for some new golf clubs or golf equipment for your trip, check out these beauties!

Atlantic City Country Club
(Course designed by John Reid)
Atlantic City Country Club’s 18-hole golf course was established in September of 1897 and is one of the oldest golf clubs in the country. There are many common golfing terms that originated here in the day such as “birdie”!
The clubhouse followed in June of 1898. This “place to be seen” hosted many social events that brought socialites, politicians, celebrities and even (as history suggests), mob bosses to the property.
The 18-hole course is beautifully manicured and known for deep sand bunkers. It travels through salt-water marshes and natural ponds so it’s challenging but oh so fun, and you can’t beat the views and enticing salt breezes.
You can email the Pro Shop at proshop@accountryclub.com.
The Taproom Bar & Grille is open to the public and is locally famous for its outstanding menu. You can make reservations here through Open Table. The Taproom’s happy hour runs from 4pm-6pm Wednesday through Saturday and offers Brunch on Sunday.

Seaview Country Club
(Bay Course designed by Hugh Wilson and Donald Ross, Pines Course designed by William Flynn and Howard Toomey)
The Seaview Country Club was founded in 1914 by Clarence H. Geist, a public utility magnate. The original course was the Bay Course which opened in 1915 and is more popular possibly because of its layout over the sand marshes of Reed’s Bay, however, the winds coming off the bay can increase the challenge. The second course, which opened in 1929, is the Pine course which, as you might guess, travels through the pine forest. The course covers 670 acres of marshes and woods in Galloway Township, New Jersey.
The Shoprite LPGA Classic has played here since 2010 but prior to 2010 was played here intermittently from 1986. Also, the Bay course at Seaview was the site of Sam Snead’s first major championship in 1942.
Seaview also has a beautiful 296-room hotel. Book here or call 609-748-7680.
Dining
The Coastal Grill and Lobby Bar will quench both your hunger and thirst and has a reputation for an atmosphere of a cozy meal at home with friends and family. View the menu here. Dinner reservations can be made by calling 609-652-1800, or you can book through Open Table.
