As you might guess, we have lot of fun things planned for the holiday weekend in Atlantic City starting with fireworks, of course!! Independence Day this year falls on a Tuesday, making it either a short, awkward weekend, or a nice, long, really good one! I’m an optimist so I’m going with the latter! So the question is……what’s going on in A.C. for July 4th and beyond?

The Independence Day holiday this year goes from Friday, June 30th thru Tuesday, July 4th! Yay!
Of course, there are a million normal things to do in AC like the beach, boardwalk, casinos, great food, etc. But below are some things I’ve found to keep you occupied if you’re looking for entertainment to fill your days or nights in Atlantic City over the long holiday weekend!
Atlantic City also offers some incredible parties and entertainment over the July 4th weekend. Celebrities and DJs will take the stage at The Borgata, Ocean Casino Resort, Hard Rock and Resorts Hotel and Casino. Of course, many other venues and nightclubs have events planned as well.
July 4th Weekend Events and Shows in Atlantic City
So, let’s start with the Fireworks!
Fireworks
Atlantic City is always a hot spot but gets even hotter in the summer and extra hot when Independence Day rolls around. The breathtaking views of the fireworks displays over the ocean bring you back to your childhood. They are some of the most popular summer events in Atlantic City.
As of the time of this writing there are two fireworks displays planned. There may be more, in which case I’ll update this post, but I’m thinking likely not.
North Beach Atlantic City – Fireworks Spectacular and Kick-Off to Summer
North Beach Atlantic City is a group of businesses on the north end of the boardwalk that organize events to promote that area of the city. These businesses (sponsors) include Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Ocean Casino Resort, Resorts Casino Hotel, Tennessee Avenue Beer Hall, Bar 32, Cuzzies, Landshark Bar & Grill, Rhythm & Spirits, Steel Pier and Absecon Lighthouse.
North Beach will kick off the summer with a fantastic fireworks display on Friday, June 30th at 9:30 pm. This 3rd annual ocean front event is free and open to the public. Several locations will be set up for viewing the display. They include Resort Casino, Hard Rock, Showboat, Ocean Casino and Steel Pier.
From 6pm-9pm and prior to the fireworks there will be activities planned along the North Beach boardwalk that include drink specials and live music. Fun!

Tropicana July 4th Fireworks
Tropicana‘s Fireworks will be held on Tuesday, July 4th at 10pm and will be a shouldn’t miss event for the whole family! The fireworks are launched from the beachfront and can be viewed from anywhere along the beach.at the Steel Pier and also in front of the Tropicana.
IMPORTANT – Fireworks all summer long!
Tropicana will also host a fireworks display every Saturday at 10pm throughout the summer. This begins Memorial Day weekend, Saturday May 27th through Saturday, September 2nd.

Ocean Casino Resort – Drone Show Fireworks Display
Ocean Casino is bringing a very unique and spectacular Drone Show and Fireworks Display to “The Park” at Ocean to celebrate the holiday and their 5th Birthday in A.C. This event will kick off at 9 pm on Friday, July 7th and then take place EVERY FRIDAY in July! How about that!
I know what this is because my son has friends who do this type of show, but in the event you haven’t heard of it . . . it’s fairly new . . . groups of illuminated drones fly choreographed and synchronized aerial formations. I don’t know specifically about this company, but there can be as many as 100 drones putting on an incredible show – all at the same time! They could be synchronizing to music, I’m not sure.
The Park at Ocean overlooks the gorgeous Atlantic and covers three acres of beautiful landscape, with firepits that remain lit throughout the year. You can reserve this venue for private events or just meet for cocktails and a little relaxation!
Independence Weekend Fireworks Booze Cruise Boat Party in Atlantic City
The Crusin’ 1 will leave Gardiner’s Basin and cruise the Atlantic City Marina circling the marina district casinos, Golden Nugget, Borgata and Harrah’s. This trip will not take you out into the open ocean. Prepare to be amazed at the incredible views of the Atlantic City skyline. Be sure to bring your camera so you can bring home lots of memories!
You will have a DJ spinning some great dance tunes and you can dance the cruise away on both the deck and at the downstairs bar. Inexpensive drink specials will be available. Note CASH BAR ONLY. The bar doesn’t accept cards and there is no ATM on board so be sure to bring cash.

Chicken Bone Beach – Jazz on the Beach
Every Thursday this summer beginning June 29th through September 7th, 2023 you can enjoy a Jazz on the Beach concert series at Kennedy Plaza across from Boardwalk Hall. The concert runs from 7pm-9pm and it’s an annual summertime event. Kennedy Plaza is located at 2301 Boardwalk. See more at Chicken Bone Beach Jazz on the Beach.
Kevin Hart, Reality Check
Kevin Hart will perform his Reality Check stand-up comedy show on Friday, June 30 at 9:00pm at Etess Arena in Hard Rock Hotel Casino. As you know, Kevin always brings the laughter.

The Australian Pink Floyd Tribute Show was the first to come out of the pubs and onto worldwide stages. This band is the best and biggest and comes with 30 years of history and a huge following! Now they’re coming to Ocean Casino in A.C.!

A festival not to be missed is the TidalWave Music Festival coming to the beach in Atlantic City August 11th thru 13th. This festival will bring you 33 local, regional and top name country music artists.
